Lakaz Chamarel is situated at the outskirts of the small mountainous village of Chamarel, and in the midst of a huge extinct volcanic crater; a part of which is Piton de la Petite Riviere Noire, the highest peak of the island.
The famous 7-coloured Earth with its waterfalls and turtles is just around the corner; the National Park can be accessed by foot The sacred lake Ganga Talao, lush Kanaka Crater and the tea plantation of Bois Cherie on the East as well as the fancy coastal towns and white sandy beaches of the west can be reached in less than 30 minutes.
